What are the things that are so true, so deeply held in your own heart and mind and conscience, so much of a conviction that you are willing to pattern your life and, if need be, to die for them?
The work of the Holy Spirit is to remind you. But he can’t remind you of something you never forgot. If you don’t put it in there, He can’t remind you of it. So, part of our job is to hide God’s Word in the memory bank.
The presence of God evident in your life. Now that’s much more than religiosity and piety that’s put on. You cannot fake real godliness. It can’t be done. It has to be real, the mystery of godliness. Why is a person that way?
See, holiness is not a tag that you wear. It’s a commitment of your life. Holiness is simply being set aside for God to use your voice, your hands, your home, your car, your telephone, your typewriter, your computer, whatever. Set aside for God to use.
You end up worshipping that which is most important to you. Anything that is more valuable to you than the will of God is your idol and so that which you consider the most valuable is that which you’ll end up worshipping.
The man and the glory, the Lord Jesus Christ is speaking your name this minute before God the Father. Isn’t that great? Well, yes, how do you know he’s speaking over me? Jesus said, “I know my sheep and I’m known of mine.”
He’s the God who is there and all of His plans are being worked out for you, beloved. Take courage and take encouragement from the fact that God sees you in Christ and He sees you with the work all done.
You’ll never understand life until you love your Lord with all your heart. Understanding of life — who am I? Why am I here and what’s happening and why should it be happening? And why should it be happening and what’s going to become of it all?
